72 Hour Health Guarantee

Seller guarantees the puppy to be in good health at the time of sale. Buyer is urged to have the puppy checked by their personal veterinarian within the first 72 hours to assure the proper health and care of the puppy. If the puppy is found to be unhealthy by veterinarians at that time, Buyer may return the puppy to seller in exchange for a replacement puppy.

 

One Year Temperament Guarantee

Meerhout guarantees your puppy's temperament up to 1 year (12 months) from date of purchase. The puppy may be returned for temperament reasons in exchange for a replacement puppy of the same value & our choice, but not before 6 months of age, and only one replacement will be given for temperament reasons. Buyer must give Seller immediate notice when any temperament problems appear to be developing. If the puppy is returned for temperament reasons no replacement will be given if the puppy is NOT in tact.

 

Rewards Program

We believe that a dog needs to have 5 things to have a fulfilled enriched life. They need physical exercise, mental stimulation, communication through training, proper nutrition and health care. To promote that, your van Meerhout puppy is eligible for the performance dog awards program. This promotes our belief and keeps our dogs in active, happy, working dogs. Performance titles include but are not limited to: Competitive obedience ( AKC & UKC), Schutzhund, Agility, Tracking, Herding, Ringsports (French, mondio), or therapy dog.
  • Advanced level titled dogs will receive a $100 refund. (UD, AX, SchH3, VST, FR3, MR3)
  • National participant will receive a $150 refund. ( Agility, Schutzhund, or Ringsport)
  • World level will receive the balance of a full refund ( World SchH championship, World Agility championship, World Ring championship or OTCH)

Conditions: Awards program applies to original owner only. Only one refund per level will be given.

 

Hip and Elbow Dysplasia Guarantee

Meerhout will guarantee your puppies Hips and Elbows through a recognized registry (OFA, SV or USA ), Radiographs are necessary for replacement puppy. X-ray films of the pups hips/elbows, showing proper positioning, and meeting OFA, SV or USA standards, must be submitted to OFA, SV or USA for evaluation at the owners expense, by the age of 26 months. If in OFA' s evaluation, the pup shows evidence of Hip/Elbow dysplasia, the buyer can choose from one the following options:

a. Return the pup, and receive a replacement pup from the next available litter, not necessarily of the same breeding

b. Keep the pup, and receive 1/3 off the purchase price of a replacement pup. Breeder requires proof of spay or neuter of the dysplastic pup before honoring guarantee.

c. Keep the pup, and receive 1/3 of the original purchase price back. Breeder required proof of spay or neuter before honoring guarantee.

All shipping costs will be the responsibility of the buyer.

By signing this contract, the buyer acknowledges they have been informed young bones do not properly calcify until 12 months of age. Buyer acknowledges we will guarantee the hips and elbows until 26 months of age, providing the buyer agrees they will not allow environmental conditions to adversely affect the development of the hip and elbow structure. Buyer will provide a certified nutritionally complete food that will not promote excessive growth or obesity. Buyer will provide puppy with 4000mg Ester C per day. Buyer will provide regular moderate exercise. The buyer is aware if they allow the dog to engage in activities that would stress the hips before the age of 10 months the hip and elbow guarantee becomes null and void. Activities include, but limited to, exercise on hard unyielding surfaces, continuous running, repetitive jumping, jumping higher than their elbow, training in competitive dog sports, or any activity that may cause injury.

 

Testicle Guarantee

If the male pup does not have both testicles down by the age of 6 months, the buyer can choose from the following options:

a. Return the pup and receive a replacement pup from the next available litter, not necessarily from the same breeding.

b. Keep the pup, and receive $500.00 off the price of a replacement pup of similar value from the next available litter, with proof of neuter.

c. Keep the pup, and receive $500.00 of the price of the original pup back (proof of neutering required).

 

Maintenance and health Care

Buyer agrees to provide proper exercise to maintain this puppy in proper weight and physical shape. Buyer also understands the importance of mental exercise and agrees to provide the puppy with adequate attention and stimulation, and to never leave the puppy unattended for unreasonable periods of time, especially tied outside. Buyer agrees to work on Basic obedience for communication with their puppy. Buyer also agrees to maintain the puppy in good health throughout it's lifetime, and to provide the necessary routine preventive health care, including, but not limited to, yearly check-ups, inoculations, internal and external parasites, and - where indicated - heartworm preventive medication and flea/tick preventatives. No undue pressure such as strenuous running, jumping, jumping over the height of the elbows, or descending of steep surfaces is to be put on the joints of this puppy before the age of 18 months.

 

Registration

Buyer will receive all necessary paperwork to obtain a limited registration certificate for their puppy through the American Kennel Club. The registration will remain limited until the Buyer provides the Seller with proof of the puppy's passing hip certifications through the OFA, SV or USA) and proof that the dog earned a performance title (Schutzhund, herding, agility, therapy dog), at which time the buyer will grant the puppy and Buyer with full registration through the AKC .

 

Van Meerhout kennel name

Buyer agrees that the puppy will be registered under the kennel name of the Seller.

 

First right of refusal

If at any time during the life of the dog, the Buyer can no longer keep the dog or plans to sell, or give the dog as a gift, Buyer agrees to notify Seller, and Seller will be given the first right of refusal to repurchase the dog at fair market value.

 

Liability

At time of delivery Buyer assumes full liability for the Dog and it's actions. The Seller releases all ownership responsibilities to the Buyer and makes no written or expressed warranties for the future handling of the Dog.

 

Conditions of this Guarantee

This guarantee applies to the dog's original owner. In order to receive your replacement puppy, you must first have a signed detailed letter from your from your veterinarian explaining the problem. This guarantee only applies to the puppies bred and owned by van Meerhout. All replacement puppies will be exchanged for another puppy of equal value to the original purchase price. No replacement will be given if the dog or bitch has been bred. All puppies returned for replacement must be in good physical condition. Owner is responsible for all transportation and registration transfer cost. Meerhout will not replace any puppy without a complete health record.
